O Spotify, maior serviço de distribuição de músicas por streaming do mundo, se prepara para abrir oficialmente sua operação no Brasil no próximo dia 28

São Paulo — O Spotify, o mais conhecido serviço de distribuição de músicas por streaming no mundo, deve aportar oficialmente no Brasil neste mês. A empresa convocou a imprensa especializada para um evento no dia 28.

O serviço já opera no país em caráter experimental. Usuários podem se candidatar a receber um convite para usar o Spotify, mas o acesso é restrito. Ainda não sabemos se ele será liberado para o público geral já no dia 28 ou em algum momento depois disso.
Uma vez inscrita no Spotify, a pessoa tem acesso a um acervo que, segundo a empresa, reúne 20 milhões de músicas.
O funcionamento é similar ao de concorrentes como Deezer e Rdio, já presentes no Brasil. No Spotify, há duas modalidades de serviço. A gratuita permite escolher álbuns, artistas e estilos, mas não músicas específicas.
Nela, as faixas são tocadas em ordem aleatória e há anúncios intercalados com as músicas, como acontece nas emissoras de rádio.
Com uma assinatura Premium, que custa 5,99 dólares por mês, torna-se possível ouvir faixas específicas, sem anúncios. O usuário também passa a poder armazenar as músicas no smartphone ou tablet. Assim, pode ouvi-las mesmo sem acesso à internet.
O Spotify foi fundado há seis anos na Suécia por Daniel Ek e Martin Lorentzon. A empresa diz que tem 24 milhões de usuários ativos, sendo 6 milhões pagantes. O serviço já está disponível em 56 países.
