Não é exatamente novidade que trabalhar nas fábricas que produzem aparelhos eletrônicos é uma tarefa difícil (exemplos não faltam aqui, nas páginas do Tecmundo). Mas alguns acontecimentos conseguem ser especialmente polêmicos – é o caso, por exemplo, dos recentes relatos de que diversos trabalhadores da Samsung teriam contraído leucemia devido a alguns produtos químicos usados em suas fábricas.
Dessa vez, no entanto, a empresa não pretende deixar a situação passar tão fácil assim. Segundo o Yonhap News Agency, a Samsung veio se desculpar oficialmente pelo sofrimento e a morte de vários dos funcionários que adoeceram nas fábricas.
“Vários de nossos funcionários em nossas fábricas de produção sofreram de leucemia e outras doenças incuráveis, o que também levou a algumas mortes”, começou Kwon Oh-Hyun, o presidente da companhia. “Nós devíamos ter resolvido a questão mais cedo, e nós estamos de coração partido porque nós falhamos em fazê-lo e em expressar nossas mais profundas desculpas.”, explicou, garantindo que vai tratar do assunto de maneira sincera.
Por fim, a companhia avisou que não vai se resumir a apenas isso. Ela também declarou que vai contratar uma empresa capaz de resolver o assunto, com o consenso das vítimas e suas famílias, para compensar devidamente os afligidos e evitar futuros problemas.
