A Sony divulgou um vídeo oficial do PlayStation TV , onde pretende acabar com a possível confusão que seu público pode ter frente ao aparelho. A empresa quer deixar claro que ele não é um aparelho de TV, apesar do nome, mas sim um console completo de videogame, que também é compatível com vídeos e aplicativos. Ele ainda roda, de forma nativa, games de PS Vita, PSP e PSOne, compatível com uma biblioteca de mais de 700 jogos de fábrica, sem a necessidade de atualização, e com outros sendo lançados no futuro. Ele também é compatível com os controles DualShock 3 e 4. Eleições 2014; primeiro turno ganha Doodle do Google. Além dos jogos, o PS TV também pode rodar vídeos comprados na PlayStation Store, como seriados e filmes, que são exibidos em alta definição. Para isso, é claro, ele precisa ser ligado em uma TV, com cabo HDMI, para que rode tudo sem problemas.
