O Brasil enfrenta altos e baixos no desenvolvimento de games e o setor empresarial tenta tomar providências para fazer o segmento avançar. No começo deste mês, os publicitários Mauro Motoryn (ex-141 Soho Square) e Izael Sinem Jr. (ex-Nestlé Brasil e ex-Publicis Brasil) lançaram o i.brasil, um grupo de cinco empresas voltadas para comunicação digital. O conglomerado vai atuar tanto com possíveis anunciantes quanto com empresas. Uma das companhias da i.brasil é a TAXI, presente no mercado de advergames, webgames e ações com marcas desde 2009. A coluna Geração Gamer conversou com o dono da TAXI, Leonardo Dias (37), sobre social games, jogos para publicidade, um game premiado na ONU e a entrada da empresa no i.brasil. O que é DLC? Veja a história dos conteúdos extras para jogos Leonardo Dias criticou jogos em redes sociais, falou bem dos games em celulares e citou um projeto brasileiro reconhecido na ONU (Foto: Divulgação) Situação dos games em redes sociais O mercado não anda fácil, nem mesmo para quem está na área de jogos digitais. “O consumo de webgames, sejam eles advergames ou não, vem sofrendo uma queda. Não só aqui, mas no resto do mundo. Quedas de empresas como a gigante Zynga são um bom indicativo disso”, diz Leonardo Dias. O empresário então tenta explicar o motivo que levou tantas pessoas que jogavam FarmVille no Facebook a desistirem de suas vaquinhas e de suas beterrabas. “Houve um boom de webgames nos últimos anos, principalmente para redes sociais. Isso gerou muita demanda por projetos de jogos para Facebook. Realmente havia muita gente não apenas jogando, mas também desenvolvendo com um foco social. Nos pediam para criar o FarmVille brasileiro. Pessoalmente, nunca considerei esse projetos como games. Já que, em sua maioria, eles podem ser chamados apenas de entretenimento clicável”, critica Leonardo. O crescimento deste mercado acompanhou a expansão do próprio Facebook, que começou a dominar o mercado brasileiro em 2010. Social Games: Eram uma bolha? Para Leonardo Dias, eram “entretenimento clicável” (Foto: Divulgação) O mercado de jogos para Facebook desinflou e a Zynga começou a entrar em decadência com ações abertas na bolsa de valores em 2012. Os usuários de rede social deixaram os games de lado e passaram a investir mais em relacionamentos e trocas de dados. A empresa americana então passou a investir em mobilidade, uma tendência mais bem-sucedida hoje. Leonardo complementa: “Demorou um pouco, mas as pessoas agora pararam de ficar construindo fazendinhas. A queda dos webgames, no entanto, não diminuiu o tempo que as pessoas dedicam aos games. O maior beneficiado com isso foram os jogos para celular. O volume de videogames mobile aumentou tanto que deu acesso a muitos novos desenvolvedores. Agora, criar e desenvolver um game, publicá-lo e conseguir ter sucesso comercial se tornou algo muito difícil. A oferta é muito grande, os preços baixaram e existe uma pressão muito grande em jogos novos free-to-play”. Aplicativo reconhecido pela ONU, em Dubai A TAXI de Leonardo fez webgames, mas atualmente se dedica ao desenvolvimento de aplicativos para celulares. O último projeto de sucesso foi o app MyFunCity, para iOS e Android, que funciona como game, troca de informações e engajamento social. Através de perguntas, localização GPS e outros recursos, o programa criado em 2011 diz aos governantes o quão feliz você está em relação ao verde, ao trânsito, à cultura e aos outros 10 itens importantes para sua qualidade de vida em sua cidade. O app MyFunCity chegou a ser associado com protestos populares em 2012 e ganhou reconhecimento na ONU (Foto: Reprodução/YouTube) “MyFunCity inclusive foi escolhido como a melhor plataforma de mobilidade em cidadania do mundo em 2013 pela ONU, em Dubai. É um programa de cidadania que usa elementos de gamificação para tentar motivar os usuários a exercitar a democracia”, explica Leonardo Dias. O segredo do app, segundo o empresário, está na palavra “gamificação”. “É óbvio que gostaríamos que as pessoas ajudassem a administrar sua cidade apenas por se sentirem cidadãos. Mas, a inclusão de elementos de gamificação e redes sociais ajudam o app a aumentar o engajamento de nossos usuários”, completa. No começo de 2014, ele incluiu a TAXI de Leonardo em seu novo conglomerado de empresas, o i.brasil. O grupo é formado por cinco empresas além da TAXI, como a rede de mensuração digital On Off Network, o call center de vendas por conversação i.sales, a empresa de eventos FitYou e a MFC Brasil, responsável pela gestão do projeto MyFunCity. “É muito bom para a TAXI, depois de quase seis anos de mercado, poder contar com uma estrutura mais robusta. E meus novos sócios têm uma história muito positiva na comunicação brasileira. O Mauro é mais da área pública e o Izael do setor privado”, diz Leonardo sobre o novo grupo que ele faz parte. A i.brasil entra no mercado com R$ 5 milhões para investir em digital, com projetos para jogos. Atualmente a TAXI tem 25 funcionários e tem como meta para 2014 crescer em 40%. Experiências anteriores da TAXI em advergames Leonardo Dias joga desde os cinco anos, quando ganhou um Atari 2600. “Depois de começar, eu não parei mais. Jogava no meu TK90X, depois no Nintendinho, no Super NES, no PC… Isso sem deixar de mencionar os Palms, os iPhones e iPads”, explica ele. Com as ocupações de trabalho e desenvolvendo projetos de jogos, o empresário não tem mais tanto tempo para jogar hoje. Leonardo diz que “Depois que você tem uma filha, não sobra muito tempo para games. Eu tive um Xbox 360 que curtia muito. Passei então para o PS3, mas acho que curto mais a Microsoft. Vendi meu PS3 quando percebi que o StarCraft não me deixava ter tempo para o console. Entre os gêneros, eu prefiro FPS pela satisfação imediata de sentar na frente da TV, dar uns tiros e ficar feliz”. A experiência de Leonardo nos jogos, há mais de 30 anos, se reflete na diversidade de projetos da TAXI em seus cinco anos de existência. A companhia já fez projetos diferentes para marcas de destaque do mercado nacional, como Fiat, Petrobras, Caixa e Itaú. T-Race foi um advergame utilizado no Big Brother Brasil 9 (Foto: Reprodução/YouTube) O T-Race foi um dos primeiros grandes projetos da TAXI. Desenvolvido em parceria com a Agência Click e com a Fiat, o jogo foi utilizado em uma prova do BBB 9. Os participantes da casa jogaram um game de corrida 3D que promovia o carro Punto T-Jet da Fiat. O adversário era o avatar de um piloto correndo com um automóvel real no circuito de Jacarepaguá. A TAXI teve um trabalho grande para digitalizar toda a pista dentro do videogame e fazer um sistema sofisticado de GPS para que uma versão virtual piloto funcionasse no desafio do BBB, contra os participantes da casa. Internautas também foram incentivados a jogar uma versão do game na internet. Projeto da TAXI com a Caixa Econômica Federal e a agência Fischer foi inspirado em Guitar Hero (Foto: Divulgação) Em 2011, a TAXI participou da campanha da Caixa Econômica Federal chamada “Poupançudos do Rock”. Com ajuda da agência Fischer, a empresa fez um jogo inspirado em Guitar Hero para incentivar a captação na captação de poupança. O jogo colocou os personagens da publicidade para tocarem músicas. Paperman foi um advergame do Itaú que brincou com o game design de Pac-Man (Foto: Divulgação) Desenvolvido com a Agência África em 2012, Paperman foi um advergame da TAXI com o Itaú para conscientizar os correntistas do banco para economizar papéis físicos de extrato e outras operações. De forma divertida, os usuários jogavam com um personagem similar ao Pac-Man para diminuir a poluição dos papéis e utilizar extratos digitais. A campanha e o game de rede social reuniram 1,5 mil curtidas no Facebook. Mesmo com muitas experiências bem sucedidas, Leonardo reclama de alguns procedimentos no mercado publicitário. “No fundo, o maior inimigo dos desenvolvedores de games focados em campanhas publicitárias não é nem tanto o tamanho das verbas, mas sim os prazos curtos. Não tem como fazer mágica. Não foi uma, nem duas, nem dez vezes que recebemos briefings para criar um game como FarmVille, ou FIFA Soccer, em prazos na casa de semanas. Seriam projetos que, se fossem ao ar, teriam mais tempo de desenvolvimento do que tempo online”, diz o especialista Outro problema, segundo Leonardo Dias, é a falta de cuidado dos responsáveis com o banco de dados de cada jogo. “Já tivemos projetos de clientes com 200 mil instalações em celulares. Depois que a campanha publicitária acabou, o mesmo cliente tirou o servidor do ar e deixou frustrados milhares de usuários. É difícil demais de se conquistar uma instalação para depois jogar tudo por água abaixo. As agências não tem uma mentalidade que entenda e valorize isso nos advergames”, ressalta o empresário.
