As informações foram divulgadas nesta quinta-feira pela publicação britânica Daily Mail com base em um estudo da consultoria iStrategy.

Segundo a pesquisa, o Facebook está “envelhecendo” em relação à idade média de seus usuários e os adolescentes estão migrando para outras redes, como o WhatsUp e Snapchat. O estudo ainda afirma que esses 11 milhões de adolescentes ainda possuem perfis no Facebook, mas gastam menos tempo no site e se interessam mais pelo Instagram, Twitter ou Tumblr.
O Facebook cita pesquisa do painel de audiência ComScore para afirmar que, no Brasil, a faixa etária de usuários que mais cresceu de 2012 para 2013 foi a de jovens entre 15 e 24 anos. Segundo a companhia, os usuários dessa faixa também gastaram 37% a mais de tempo navegando no site na mesma comparação.
