A Motorola apresentou ontem o smartphone Moto E, em evento realizado em São Paulo. Trata-se do lançamento global do produto, que chegará hoje à loja virtual da fabricante no Brasil – o lançamento em mercados estrangeiros está previsto para as próximas semanas. Com preço inicial de R$ 529, o dispositivo de configurações básicas é o smartphone Android mais barato da empresa.
Com o mote de “um aparelho feito para durar”, o Moto E tem tela de 4,3 polegadas (960 x 540 pixels), 1 GB de memória RAM, 4 GB para armazenamento (expansíveis para até 32 GB com chip microSD), processador Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual-core (dois núcleos) de 1,2 GHz, sistema operacional Android 4.4 (KitKat), rádio FM e câmera traseira de 5 megapixels não tem câmera frontal.
No mercado brasileiro, o dispositivo chegará em duas versões – ambas compatíveis com dois chips de operadoras (dual-chip). Há o modelo básico e também um com TV digital (R$ 599) e que vem com duas capas coloridas. As capas coloridas compatíveis com os smartphones serão vendidas separadamente.

“Acreditamos que o acesso à telefonia móvel é um direito e queremos acabar com os telefones simples [feature phones] para sempre”, disse Rick Osterloh, presidente e diretor de operações da Motorola, ao definir a importância do produto para a marca.
O executivo disse que o Moto E é mais um passo da marca para tentar atingir os 70% dos usuários que ainda utilizam celulares simples, que não têm acesso à internet móvel rápida ou a aplicativos móveis.
Estratégias
Moto E é o primeiro smartphone lançado pela Motorola depois que a empresa foi vendida pelo Google para a Lenovo, em janeiro de 2014. A transação, no valor de 3 bilhões de dólares, ainda depende da aprovação de órgãos reguladores nos Estados Unidos e na China, o que deve acontecer até o fim deste ano.
A aquisição da Motorola é um passo importante da Lenovo no mercado de dispositivos móveis. Com a compra da empresa, a fabricante chinesa, que lidera as vendas de computadores em todo o mundo, ganhou maior participação de mercado e assumiu a terceira posição no ranking de maiores fabricantes de smartphones — o segundo, se consideradas somente as empresas que adotam o sistema operacional Android.
