A Campus Party Brasil 2014 terá o primeiro caixa eletrônico de bitcoin da América do Sul; a máquina pode chegar também em importantes centros comerciais de São Paulo, após o evento. Fabricado pela empresa portuguesa Lamassu, o caixa chega ao Brasil pelas mãos da Mercado Bitcoin, uma startup que media transações entre compradores e vendedores de criptomoeda. O contrário, a compra de reais com bitcoins, não será possível. O uso é simples: o cliente expõe um código em formato QR para a leitura do endereço da carteira de bitcoin e depois insere as notas de real. Batista conta que serão distribuídas pequenas quantidades de bitcoin para quem visitar o estande da empresa durante o evento. O público também receberá material educativo com informações de apresentação da moeda e poderá participar do painel sobre o assunto programado para o palco Hypatia. “Esperamos que mais pessoas saiam interessadas na tecnologia de bitcoins. A criptografia é usada para garantir que os bitcoins sejam gastos só pelo dono. O projeto permite ainda a propriedade e transferência anônima de valores. Rodrigo Batista explica que no Brasil a adoção da moeda ainda está em estágio inicial. “O número de pessoas interessadas tem aumentado exponencialmente. Acreditamos que hoje 90% das pessoas usem bitcoins no Brasil como investimento e apenas cerca de 10% delas o utilizam como meio de pagamento”, analisa.
