O mais recente relatório da Cisco sobre alvos deste tipo de cibercriminoso apontou que 99% dos ataques a celulares e tablets foram aos aparelhos que utilizam o sistema operacional do Google. O vírus identificado como Andr/Qdplugin-A foi o mais encontrado nesse tipo de infecções. Ele é comum em aplicativos falsos que se disfarçam como jogos e programas famosos do Google Play. Um detalhe curioso é que o relatório ganhou repercussão na Internet após ser postado no Twitter pelo vice-presidente de marketing da Apple, Phil Schiller. Ele não fez menção aos números do Android na pesquisa, mas os usuários da rede social viram que “ironizar” os problemas de segurança do sistema do Google foi a intenção do executivo. A pesquisa identificou ainda que 91% desses ataques são feitos com o Java como alvo, enquanto 64% dos malwares são cavalos de Troia, tipo de malware mais comum.
