Segundo o presidente executivo da Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, não haverá grandes mudanças em sua gestão. Houve quedas no valor das ações e também fracasso de vendas do WiiU, mas ele afirma que não pretende lançar jogos para os dispositivos que não sejam da companhia.
A empresa teve um 3º ano ruim, com o WiiU vendendo 70% menos, com um desempenho péssimo, assim não estão esperando um ano com lucros, pois a previsão inicial foi de U$960 milhões no ano que vai terminar em Março. Já pensando em uma nova estrutura nos negócios, a venda deve continuar a mesma em se tratando de um produto que valem milhares de ienes, relata Satoru que deu entrevista no Japão na sexta, dia 17. Para ele a demanda dos jogos em tablets e também em smartphones não é motivo da queda das vendas e isso não influenciará de nenhuma forma. Não é dessa forma que os videogames deixarão o mercado. As pessoas procurarão os produtos e ainda precisam de videogames para jogar.
A Nintendo não desenvolve jogos para outras empresas como a Sony e Microsoft, aos quais tiveram altas vendas com os PlayStation 4 e Xbox One e sempre resistiu às pressões. Tendo as franquias como The Legend of Zelda e Mário com alta popularidade, mas está perdendo ao abrir mão de lançamento de outras versões dos seus jogos para tablets e celulares.
Com lançamento do Wii U no Brasil, a versão de luxo chegará no dia 26/01 com um preço de R$1,9 mil que é considerado vantajoso para a empresa, mesmo depois de um ano de lançamento nos E.U.A. Com 60 jogos para a plataforma é considerado o menor preço com relação ao PlayStation 4, que custa R$2,3 mil e o Xbox One no valor de R$4mil.
